The position in a nutshell
As a DevOps Engineer, you will be responsible for the overall health of multiple applications and their operating environments while interacting with development team members to design and deliver the applications with high availability and stability. When a problem occurs, you’ll be the person who analyzes and understands the problem and delegates it to the relevant people. You will apply your cloud and CI/CD skills working with cloud-based & on-prem resources to define standards and processes for the development and deployment of scalable, reliable applications. You will also be responsible for suggesting innovative solutions and carrying out proof of concepts such as automation of processes and improving integration points.
Qualifications & Experience
- BSc/MSc/PhD degree in Computer Science or a related field or equivalent work experience
- 1+ years of experience in DevOps Engineer or SRE role
- Proficiency in Unix/Linux environments such as Ubuntu and/or RHEL
- Understanding of large scale distributed systems and microservices architecture
- Experience with monitoring systems (Prometheus, Grafana, ELK Stack, collectord, splunk etc.)
- Experience with shell tools (vim, tmux, git, telnet, netcat, ssh, jq, docker-compose etc.)
- Programming and scripting skills (Shell, python, java, or nodejs)
- Experience with Docker, Kubernetes,
- Experience with Jenkins or other CI/CD automation build and deployment systems
- Proficiency with Git and Git branching models
Nice to have
- Experience with AWS, Azure, GCP, Alibaba, or Oracle Cloud
- Experience Ansible or similar IaC technologies
- Knowledge of messaging systems such as Kafka
- Knowledge of Relational and NoSQL data stores such as ElasticSearch, Postgres, Scylladb
- Knowledge of load balancers such as nginx, haproxy, F5 etc.
